it is right for man to have the glory of God as his goal, can it be wrong for God to have the same goal? If man can have no higher purpose than God’s glory, how can God? If it is wrong for man to seek a lesser end than this, it would be wrong for God, too. The reason it cannot be right for man to live for himself, as if he were God, is because he is not God. However, it cannot be wrong for God to seek his own glory, simply because he is God. Those who insist that God should not seek his glory in all things are really asking that he cease to be God. And there is no greater blasphemy than to will God out of existence.

For God to seek His own glory, if not to glory who He is, but but He is. God is perfect and eternal love. Much like a coach or a teacher that wants his players and student to gain the benefits from his teachings and knowledge. God wants to be glorified in order for his love to to gained. To know God is to understand and gain his love.

I hope to use this medium as an attempt to not only to organize and gather my thought as I journey through the Anglican Catechism but to use it as a source of inspiration to other that may feel called to read it. It will also serve as a structured format for me to use during my diaconate formation process. The catechism has often been seen as a formation tool for young people to study and discern to be confirmed within the church. It is far more than that. It is the very foundation that every Christian must be familiar with. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and respect. With 2,000 years behind us and millions of books and study guides are written on all matters concerning the faith, the basics have been lost within the noise.
